This artwork by Qiu Yacai achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in London in August this year. In the Cherry Picked Modern & Contemporary Art Online auction, the work Modern Middle Class sold for HKD 243,200.00 (€ 28,607.81) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 100,000.00. Admittedly, works by Qiu Yacai have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Model(Painted In 1993) in October 2017 with an auction result of HKD 1,534,000.00 (€ 168,834.82).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Qiu Yacai erzielte im August diesen Jahres bei Bonhams in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Cherry Picked Modern & Contemporary Art Online wurde die Arbeit Modern Middle Class für HKD 243.200,00 (€ 28.607,81) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 100.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Qiu Yacai auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Model(Painted In 1993) im Oktober 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 1.534.000,00 (€ 168.834,82).
