Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Rebirth of a Snake-Woman by Chiho Aoshima was sold in the Contemporary Showcase: Otaku Redux auction at Sothebys in Hong Kong in September 2021. The price achieved of HKD 50,400.00 (€ 5,589.84) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. Admittedly, works by Chiho Aoshima have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work City Glow in May 2010 with an auction result of USD 60,000.00 (€ 48,508.37).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit The Rebirth of a Snake-Woman von Chiho Aoshima wurde im September 2021 in der Auktion Contemporary Showcase: Otaku Redux bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 50.400,00 (€ 5.589,84) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Chiho Aoshima auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit City Glow im Mai 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 60.000,00 (€ 48.508,37).
