Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In September 2012 Sothebys in New York held the auction Contemporary Art, which included the work Third Front - Mine Pool by Chen Jiagang. Here, the upper estimate of USD 10,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 11,250.00 (€ 8,750.78). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Chen Jiagang - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work 'Third Front - Shuicheng Iron & Steel Co., Ltd.', which sold at auction in October 2007 for USD 37,000.00 (€ 25,573.68).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im September 2012 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Third Front - Mine Pool von Chen Jiagang zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 10.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 11.250,00 (€ 8.750,78) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Chen Jiagang mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit 'Third Front - Shuicheng Iron & Steel Co., Ltd.' beobachtet, die im Oktober 2007 für USD 37.000,00 (€ 25.573,68) versteigert wurde.
