Sold at the upper estimate price
In October 2013 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Contemporary Asian Art, which included the work Memories by Chen Jiagang. The auction ended at the price of HKD 100,000.00 (€ 9,489.48), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of HKD 80,000.00 – 100,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Chen Jiagang - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work 'Third Front - Shuicheng Iron & Steel Co., Ltd.', which sold at auction in October 2007 for USD 37,000.00 (€ 25,573.68).
Zuschlag beim oberen Schätzpreis
Im Oktober 2013 führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Contemporary Asian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Memories von Chen Jiagang zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von HKD 100.000,00 (€ 9.489,48) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 80.000,00 – 100.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Chen Jiagang mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit 'Third Front - Shuicheng Iron & Steel Co., Ltd.' beobachtet, die im Oktober 2007 für USD 37.000,00 (€ 25.573,68) versteigert wurde.
