Sold at the upper estimate price
The work Memories by Chen Jiagang was auctioned at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2011. The auction ended at the price of HKD 100,000.00 (€ 9,234.96), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of HKD 80,000.00 – 100,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Chen Jiagang - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work 'Third Front - Shuicheng Iron & Steel Co., Ltd.', which sold at auction in October 2007 for USD 37,000.00 (€ 25,573.68).
Zuschlag beim oberen Schätzpreis
Die Arbeit Memories von Chen Jiagang kam im Oktober 2011 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong zur Auktion. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von HKD 100.000,00 (€ 9.234,96) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 80.000,00 – 100.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Chen Jiagang mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit 'Third Front - Shuicheng Iron & Steel Co., Ltd.' beobachtet, die im Oktober 2007 für USD 37.000,00 (€ 25.573,68) versteigert wurde.
