This artwork by Charles Robinson achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in December 2001. In the BRITISH AND CONTINENTAL DRAWINGS AND WATERCOLOURS AND ILLUST auction, the work Three men in a tub sold for GBP 1,645.00 (€ 2,687.70) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 800.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Charles Robinson - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Illustrations for Aesop's Fables: The fox and the bunch of grapes; and The fox with the cropped tail (both illustrated), which sold at auction in December 2004 for GBP 5,019.00 (€ 7,103.27).

In der Auktion BRITISH AND CONTINENTAL DRAWINGS AND WATERCOLOURS AND ILLUST wurde die Arbeit Three men in a tub für GBP 1.645,00 (€ 2.687,70) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 800,00.
