Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Illustrations for Aesop's Fables: The wolf and the lamb; The man & the lion travelling together; and The adder and the file (two illustrated) by Charles Robinson was auctioned at Christies in London in December 2004. It changed hands for a price of GBP 1,434.00 (€ 2,029.51) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Charles Robinson - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Illustrations for Aesop's Fables: The fox and the bunch of grapes; and The fox with the cropped tail (both illustrated), which sold at auction in December 2004 for GBP 5,019.00 (€ 7,103.27).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Illustrations for Aesop's Fables: The wolf and the lamb; The man & the lion travelling together; and The adder and the file (two illustrated) von Charles Robinson kam im Dezember 2004 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 1.434,00 (€ 2.029,51) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Charles Robinson mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Illustrations for Aesop's Fables: The fox and the bunch of grapes; and The fox with the cropped tail (both illustrated) beobachtet, die im Dezember 2004 für GBP 5.019,00 (€ 7.103,27) versteigert wurde.
