Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In December 2004 Christies in London held the auction British and Continental Watercolours including Original Book, which included the work An illustration for Aesop's Fables: The field mouse & the town mouse by Charles Robinson. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 800.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 836.50 (€ 1,183.88). Admittedly, works by Charles Robinson have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Illustrations for Aesop's Fables: The fox and the bunch of grapes; and The fox with the cropped tail (both illustrated) in December 2004 with an auction result of GBP 5,019.00 (€ 7,103.27).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Dezember 2004 führte Christies in London die Auktion British and Continental Watercolours including Original Book durch, in der auch die Arbeit An illustration for Aesop's Fables: The field mouse & the town mouse von Charles Robinson zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 800,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 836,50 (€ 1.183,88) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Charles Robinson auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Illustrations for Aesop's Fables: The fox and the bunch of grapes; and The fox with the cropped tail (both illustrated) im Dezember 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 5.019,00 (€ 7.103,27).
