Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Ile Saint-Honorat, Le Donjon', 1852 'Chateau De Tarascon', 1852 by Charles Nègre was auctioned at Sothebys in Paris in November 2014. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 6,000.00 – 8,000.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 6,500.00 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Charles Nègre achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Versant de la colline avec cascade et personnage (Slope of the hill with waterfall and figure) in October 2017 with an auction result of USD 112,500.00 (€ 96,583.10).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Ile Saint-Honorat, Le Donjon', 1852 'Chateau De Tarascon', 1852 von Charles Nègre kam im November 2014 bei Sothebys in Paris zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von EUR 6.500,00 konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Charles Nègre erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Versant de la colline avec cascade et personnage (Slope of the hill with waterfall and figure) im Oktober 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 112.500,00 (€ 96.583,10).
