Auction result misses estimated price range
In April 2021 a collector was able to acquire the work The Salute To The Emperor (Imperial Asylum At Vincennes, 15 August) by Charles Nègre for USD 9,450.00 (€ 7,855.36). This price was achieved in the auction Photographs at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Charles Nègre achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Versant de la colline avec cascade et personnage (Slope of the hill with waterfall and figure) in October 2017 with an auction result of USD 112,500.00 (€ 96,583.10).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im April 2021 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit The Salute To The Emperor (Imperial Asylum At Vincennes, 15 August) von Charles Nègre für USD 9.450,00 (€ 7.855,36) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Photographs bei Sothebys in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Charles Nègre erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Versant de la colline avec cascade et personnage (Slope of the hill with waterfall and figure) im Oktober 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 112.500,00 (€ 96.583,10).
