Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2005 Christies in London held the auction British and Victorian Paintings, which included the work Portrait of Mrs Dunbar, Half-Length, In A Yellow Gown, Feigned Half Oval by Charles Jervas. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 2,040.00 (€ 2,997.02) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Charles Jervas achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait Of A Lady, Traditionally Identified As Elizabeth Felton, Of Playford, Later Countess Of Bristol (1677-1741), Three-Quarter-Length, Seated In A White Dress With A Blue Wrap, In A Wooded Landscape in June 2002 with an auction result of GBP 45,410.00 (€ 70,238.99).
Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait Of A Lady, Traditionally Identified As Elizabeth Felton, Of Playford, Later Countess Of Bristol (1677-1741), Three-Quarter-Length, Seated In A White Dress With A Blue Wrap, In A Wooded Landscape im Juni 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 45.410,00 (€ 70.238,99).
