Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait of a lady, three-quarter-length, in a blue dress beside classical relief, a lake beyond by Charles Jervas was sold in the Lyons Demesne Works of Art from The Collection ofThe Late Dr. Tony Ryan auction at Christies in London in July 2011. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 8,125.00 (€ 9,324.65) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Charles Jervas have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Portrait Of A Lady, Traditionally Identified As Elizabeth Felton, Of Playford, Later Countess Of Bristol (1677-1741), Three-Quarter-Length, Seated In A White Dress With A Blue Wrap, In A Wooded Landscape in June 2002 with an auction result of GBP 45,410.00 (€ 70,238.99).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Portrait of a lady, three-quarter-length, in a blue dress beside classical relief, a lake beyond von Charles Jervas wurde im Juli 2011 in der Auktion Lyons Demesne Works of Art from The Collection ofThe Late Dr. Tony Ryan bei Christies in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 8.125,00 (€ 9.324,65) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
