Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait of Jane du Cane, alias du Quesne (b.1711), three-quarter-length, in a white silk dress with golden trimming and a plumed hat, a cane in her left hand, a landscape beyond by Charles Jervas was auctioned at Christies in London in April 2015. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 4,375.00 (€ 6,007.88) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Charles Jervas achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait Of A Lady, Traditionally Identified As Elizabeth Felton, Of Playford, Later Countess Of Bristol (1677-1741), Three-Quarter-Length, Seated In A White Dress With A Blue Wrap, In A Wooded Landscape in June 2002 with an auction result of GBP 45,410.00 (€ 70,238.99).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Portrait of Jane du Cane, alias du Quesne (b.1711), three-quarter-length, in a white silk dress with golden trimming and a plumed hat, a cane in her left hand, a landscape beyond von Charles Jervas kam im April 2015 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait Of A Lady, Traditionally Identified As Elizabeth Felton, Of Playford, Later Countess Of Bristol (1677-1741), Three-Quarter-Length, Seated In A White Dress With A Blue Wrap, In A Wooded Landscape im Juni 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 45.410,00 (€ 70.238,99).
