Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Charles Conder achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in November 2007. In the Prints & Multiples auction, the work Seven plates, from The carnival set sold for GBP 5,625.00 (€ 7,876.46) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 2,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Charles Conder achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work British the Fatal Colors in August 2008 with an auction result of AUD 702,000.00 (€ 409,791.12).
