Auction result misses estimated price range
In May 2013 a collector was able to acquire the work British the Howe In Spring by Charles Conder for USD 197,000.00 (€ 151,678.47). This price was achieved in the auction 19th Century European Art at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 200,000.00 – 300,000.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Charles Conder - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work British the Fatal Colors, which sold at auction in August 2008 for AUD 702,000.00 (€ 409,791.12).
