Auction result well in line with expectations
The work In the Land of Dreams by Charles Conder was sold in the Modern and Contemporary Australian Art with Works by 20th Century African Artists auction at Christies in London in October 2011. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 2,500.00 – 3,500.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 2,750.00 (€ 3,182.60) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Charles Conder achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work British the Fatal Colors in August 2008 with an auction result of AUD 702,000.00 (€ 409,791.12).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit In the Land of Dreams von Charles Conder wurde im Oktober 2011 in der Auktion Modern and Contemporary Australian Art with Works by 20th Century African Artists bei Christies in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 2.500,00 – 3.500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 2.750,00 (€ 3.182,60) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Charles Conder erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit British the Fatal Colors im August 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 702.000,00 (€ 409.791,12).
