Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Self-Flagellation, Survival, Insubordination, (P-45) by Carlos Garaicoa was sold in the Contemporary Discoveries auction at Sothebys in New York in March last year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 10,080.00 (€ 9,086.81) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Carlos Garaicoa have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Untitled (from the series New Architectures) in September 2010 with an auction result of USD 56,250.00 (€ 41,357.25).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Self-Flagellation, Survival, Insubordination, (P-45) von Carlos Garaicoa wurde im März letzten Jahres in der Auktion Contemporary Discoveries bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 10.080,00 (€ 9.086,81) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Carlos Garaicoa auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Untitled (from the series New Architectures) im September 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 56.250,00 (€ 41.357,25).
