Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%

This artwork by Carlos Garaicoa achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in March this year. In the Latin American Art Online auction, the work Acerca de esos incansables atlantes que sostienen día por día nuestro presente sold for USD 44,100.00 (€ 40,562.91) - well above the upper estimate of USD 20,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Carlos Garaicoa; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Untitled (from the series New Architectures) sold at auction in September 2010 with the realized price of USD 56,250.00 (€ 41,357.25).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Carlos Garaicoa erzielte im März diesen Jahres bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis.
