Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Distortion by Carl Hammoud was sold in the Contemporary Art auction at Sothebys in New York in March 2021. It changed hands for a price of USD 11,970.00 (€ 10,193.31) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Carl Hammoud - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work "Destroy Restore", which sold at auction in November 2014 for SEK 210,000.00 (€ 22,641.10).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Distortion von Carl Hammoud wurde im März 2021 in der Auktion Contemporary Art bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 11.970,00 (€ 10.193,31) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Carl Hammoud mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit "Destroy Restore" beobachtet, die im November 2014 für SEK 210.000,00 (€ 22.641,10) versteigert wurde.
