Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Canan Tolon achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in March last year. In the Contemporary Discoveries auction, the work Landscape #7 sold for USD 44,100.00 (€ 39,754.80) - well above the upper estimate of USD 15,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Canan Tolon - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Glitch Iii (From The Glitch Series), which sold at auction in April 2012 for GBP 79,250.00 (€ 97,197.92).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Canan Tolon erzielte im März letzten Jahres bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Contemporary Discoveries wurde die Arbeit Landscape #7 für USD 44.100,00 (€ 39.754,80) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 15.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Canan Tolon mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Glitch Iii (From The Glitch Series) beobachtet, die im April 2012 für GBP 79.250,00 (€ 97.197,92) versteigert wurde.
