Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2008 Christies in London held the auction Post War & Contemporary Art, which included the work Conspiracy by Brian Alfred. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 3,500.00 (€ 3,676.02) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Brian Alfred have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Untitled (Racetrack) in July 2007 with an auction result of USD 27,600.00 (€ 20,129.82).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember 2008 führte Christies in London die Auktion Post War & Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Conspiracy von Brian Alfred zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 3.500,00 (€ 3.676,02) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Brian Alfred auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Untitled (Racetrack) im Juli 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 27.600,00 (€ 20.129,82).
