Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Green by Bradley Walker Tomlin was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in May last year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 220,000.00 – 280,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 214,200.00 (€ 199,608.61). Other works by Bradley Walker Tomlin have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in May 2018 by the work Number 19 at USD 275,000.00 (€ 235,646.96).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Green von Bradley Walker Tomlin im Mai letzten Jahres bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 220.000,00 – 280.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 214.200,00 (€ 199.608,61) den Besitzer. Andere Arbeiten von Bradley Walker Tomlin wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im Mai 2018 die Arbeit Number 19 mit USD 275.000,00 (€ 235.646,96).
