Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Block 108 And Block 109 (Cape Cod Cottage And Coffee Pot) by Blanche Lazzell was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in October 2019, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 17,500.00 (€ 15,688.03). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Blanche Lazzell achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Painting Xi (The Windmill) in May 2008 with an auction result of USD 505,000.00 (€ 324,550.13).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Block 108 And Block 109 (Cape Cod Cottage And Coffee Pot) von Blanche Lazzell im Oktober 2019 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 17.500,00 (€ 15.688,03) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Blanche Lazzell erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Painting Xi (The Windmill) im Mai 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 505.000,00 (€ 324.550,13).
