Auction result well in line with expectations
In February 2015 Christies in London held the auction Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Auction, which included the work Catherine's Dream by Bill Viola. The price achieved of GBP 62,500.00 (€ 86,178.22) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 50,000.00 – 70,000.00. Admittedly, works by Bill Viola have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Eternal Return in October 2006 with an auction result of GBP 377,600.00 (€ 564,168.04).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Februar 2015 führte Christies in London die Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Auction durch, in der auch die Arbeit Catherine's Dream von Bill Viola zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 62.500,00 (€ 86.178,22) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 50.000,00 – 70.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Bill Viola auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Eternal Return im Oktober 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 377.600,00 (€ 564.168,04).
