Auction result misses estimated price range
In March 2010 a collector was able to acquire the work Chess Players I by Bill Jacklin for USD 8,750.00 (€ 6,469.02). This price was achieved in the auction Contemporary Art at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Bill Jacklin have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Black Umbrella, Times Square III in December 2011 with an auction result of GBP 32,450.00 (€ 38,863.46).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im März 2010 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Chess Players I von Bill Jacklin für USD 8.750,00 (€ 6.469,02) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Contemporary Art bei Sothebys in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Bill Jacklin auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Black Umbrella, Times Square III im Dezember 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 32.450,00 (€ 38.863,46).
