In November 2019 Christies in London held the auction Modern | British Art, which included the work Out of the Wood III by Bill Jacklin. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 13,750.00 (€ 16,145.86), 38% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Bill Jacklin - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Black Umbrella, Times Square III, which sold at auction in December 2011 for GBP 32,450.00 (€ 38,863.46).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 38 % übertroffen
Im November 2019 führte Christies in London die Auktion Modern | British Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Out of the Wood III von Bill Jacklin zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 13.750,00 (€ 16.145,86) und damit 38% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Bill Jacklin mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Black Umbrella, Times Square III beobachtet, die im Dezember 2011 für GBP 32.450,00 (€ 38.863,46) versteigert wurde.
