Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Tormenta Con Sol by Benito Quinquela Martín was sold in the Impressionist & Modern Art Day Sale auction at Sothebys in New York in November 2019. The price achieved of USD 17,500.00 (€ 15,881.66) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Benito Quinquela Martín achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work El Puerto De Buenos Aires in May 2008 with an auction result of USD 421,000.00 (€ 270,565.55).

Die Arbeit Tormenta Con Sol von Benito Quinquela Martín wurde im November 2019 in der Auktion Impressionist & Modern Art Day Sale bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 17.500,00 (€ 15.881,66) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 15.000,00 – 20.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Benito Quinquela Martín erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit El Puerto De Buenos Aires im Mai 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 421.000,00 (€ 270.565,55).
