Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Untitled (Yellow Abstract) by Beauford Delaney was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in October 2020. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 20,160.00 (€ 17,309.18) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Beauford Delaney achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work James Baldwin in October last year with an auction result of GBP 1,026,000.00 (€ 1,195,278.64).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Untitled (Yellow Abstract) von Beauford Delaney kam im Oktober 2020 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 20.160,00 (€ 17.309,18) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Beauford Delaney erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit James Baldwin im Oktober letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.026.000,00 (€ 1.195.278,64).
