Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Beatriz Milhazes could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in May 2021 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Contemporary Art Day Auction auction, the work Maracaiola changed hands for USD 214,200.00 (€ 175,660.16) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 250,000.00 – 350,000.00. Admittedly, works by Beatriz Milhazes have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Meu Limão in November 2012 with an auction result of USD 2,098,500.00 (€ 1,612,990.01).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Beatriz Milhazes konnte im Mai 2021 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Contemporary Art Day Auction wechselte die Arbeit Maracaiola für USD 214.200,00 (€ 175.660,16) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 250.000,00 – 350.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Beatriz Milhazes auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Meu Limão im November 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.098.500,00 (€ 1.612.990,01).
