Description
BEATRIZ MILHAZES (B. 1960) Bibi screenprint in colours, 2003, on Waterford wove paper, signed, titled and dated in pencil on the reverse, numbered 17/43 (there were also eleven artist's proofs), published by Durham Press, Pennsylvania, with their blindstamp Image & Sheet 572 x 572 mm.
Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Bibi by Beatriz Milhazes was sold in the Contemporary Edition: London auction at Christies in London in March this year. The price achieved of GBP 5,670.00 (€ 6,450.72) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Beatriz Milhazes achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Meu Limão in November 2012 with an auction result of USD 2,098,500.00 (€ 1,612,990.01).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Bibi von Beatriz Milhazes wurde im März diesen Jahres in der Auktion Contemporary Edition: London bei Christies in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 5.670,00 (€ 6.450,72) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Beatriz Milhazes erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Meu Limão im November 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.098.500,00 (€ 1.612.990,01).
