Auction result well in line with expectations
In October this year Phillips in London held the auction 20th Century & Contemporary Art Evening Sale, which included the work Mares do Sul by Beatriz Milhazes. The price achieved of GBP 698,500.00 (€ 802,072.06) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 600,000.00 – 800,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Beatriz Milhazes - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Meu Limão, which sold at auction in November 2012 for USD 2,098,500.00 (€ 1,612,990.01).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober diesen Jahres führte Phillips in London die Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Evening Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Mares do Sul von Beatriz Milhazes zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 698.500,00 (€ 802.072,06) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 600.000,00 – 800.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Beatriz Milhazes mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Meu Limão beobachtet, die im November 2012 für USD 2.098.500,00 (€ 1.612.990,01) versteigert wurde.
