Auction result misses estimated price range
In September 2018 a collector was able to acquire the work Sculptured Activities by Barry Le Va for USD 9,375.00 (€ 8,066.60). This price was achieved in the auction Contemporary Curated at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Barry Le Va - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Three works: (i) Double Drawing; (ii) Untitled (feld & glas); (iii) Sheets to Strips to Particles, which sold at auction in February 2019 for USD 22,500.00 (€ 19,773.27).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im September 2018 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Sculptured Activities von Barry Le Va für USD 9.375,00 (€ 8.066,60) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Contemporary Curated bei Sothebys in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Barry Le Va mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Three works: (i) Double Drawing; (ii) Untitled (feld & glas); (iii) Sheets to Strips to Particles beobachtet, die im Februar 2019 für USD 22.500,00 (€ 19.773,27) versteigert wurde.
