BARRY LE VA (B. 1941) Untitled (Study for Wall/Floor Sculpture) inscribed 'F' (lower left); signed and dated 'B. Le Va 1991' (lower right) ink, gouache, graphite and staples on two joined sheets of paper 12 1 ⁄ 4 x 10 1 ⁄ 8 in. (31.1 x 25.7 cm.) Executed in 1991.

It achieved a price of USD 1,890.00 (€ 1,852.58), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 26%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Barry Le Va achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Three works: (i) Double Drawing; (ii) Untitled (feld & glas); (iii) Sheets to Strips to Particles in February 2019 with an auction result of USD 22,500.00 (€ 19,773.27).

Die Arbeit Untitled (Study for Wall/Floor Sculpture) von Barry Le Va kam im Juli letzten Jahres bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 1.890,00 (€ 1.852,58) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 26%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Barry Le Va erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Three works: (i) Double Drawing; (ii) Untitled (feld & glas); (iii) Sheets to Strips to Particles im Februar 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 22.500,00 (€ 19.773,27).
