Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Two Ancestral Figures, from Opposing Forms (M. 53, S.A.C. 42) by Barbara Hepworth was sold in the Evening & Day Editions auction at Phillips in London in June this year. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 2,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 2,159.00 (€ 2,512.70). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Barbara Hepworth achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Family of Man: Ancestor II in November this year with an auction result of USD 11,565,000.00 (€ 10,602,310.23).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Two Ancestral Figures, from Opposing Forms (M. 53, S.A.C. 42) von Barbara Hepworth wurde im Juni diesen Jahres in der Auktion Evening & Day Editions bei Phillips in London versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 2.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 2.159,00 (€ 2.512,70) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Barbara Hepworth erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Family of Man: Ancestor II im November diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 11.565.000,00 (€ 10.602.310,23).
