In June this year Phillips in London held the auction Evening & Day Editions, which included the work Assembly of Square Forms, from Opposing Forms (M. 49, S.A.C. 43) by Barbara Hepworth. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,905.00 (€ 2,217.09), 27% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Barbara Hepworth achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Family of Man: Ancestor II in November this year with an auction result of USD 11,565,000.00 (€ 10,602,310.23).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 27 % übertroffen
Im Juni diesen Jahres führte Phillips in London die Auktion Evening & Day Editions durch, in der auch die Arbeit Assembly of Square Forms, from Opposing Forms (M. 49, S.A.C. 43) von Barbara Hepworth zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 1.905,00 (€ 2.217,09) und damit 27% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Barbara Hepworth erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Family of Man: Ancestor II im November diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 11.565.000,00 (€ 10.602.310,23).
