Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Banks Violette could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in March 2015 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Contemporary Curated auction, the work Not Yet Titled (Microphone Stand) changed hands for USD 11,875.00 (€ 11,055.77) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Banks Violette achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work burnout (fadeaway), vol.1 in June 2008 with an auction result of GBP 205,250.00 (€ 259,442.88).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Banks Violette konnte im März 2015 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Contemporary Curated wechselte die Arbeit Not Yet Titled (Microphone Stand) für USD 11.875,00 (€ 11.055,77) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Banks Violette erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit burnout (fadeaway), vol.1 im Juni 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 205.250,00 (€ 259.442,88).
