Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Black Hole (Single Channel) by Banks Violette was auctioned at Phillips in an online auction in November 2020. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 10,080.00 (€ 11,252.68) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Banks Violette achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work burnout (fadeaway), vol.1 in June 2008 with an auction result of GBP 205,250.00 (€ 259,442.88).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Black Hole (Single Channel) von Banks Violette kam im November 2020 bei Phillips in einer Online-Auktion zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 10.080,00 (€ 11.252,68) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Banks Violette erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit burnout (fadeaway), vol.1 im Juni 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 205.250,00 (€ 259.442,88).
