Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Augustus Saint-Gaudens achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in November 2017. In the American Art auction, the work Head Of Victory sold for USD 175,000.00 (€ 147,083.54) - well above the upper estimate of USD 70,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Augustus Saint-Gaudens achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Victory in May 2017 with an auction result of USD 2,047,500.00 (€ 1,822,267.71).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Augustus Saint-Gaudens erzielte im November 2017 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion American Art wurde die Arbeit Head Of Victory für USD 175.000,00 (€ 147.083,54) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 70.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Augustus Saint-Gaudens erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Victory im Mai 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.047.500,00 (€ 1.822.267,71).
