Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Head Of Victory by Augustus Saint-Gaudens was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in June 2020. The price achieved of USD 47,500.00 (€ 42,293.65) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Augustus Saint-Gaudens achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Victory in May 2017 with an auction result of USD 2,047,500.00 (€ 1,822,267.71).

Die Arbeit Head Of Victory von Augustus Saint-Gaudens kam im Juni 2020 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 47.500,00 (€ 42.293,65) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Augustus Saint-Gaudens erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Victory im Mai 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.047.500,00 (€ 1.822.267,71).
