Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Head of Lincoln by Augustus Saint-Gaudens was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in November 2021. It achieved a price of USD 35,280.00 (€ 31,257.20), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 18%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Augustus Saint-Gaudens achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Victory in May 2017 with an auction result of USD 2,047,500.00 (€ 1,822,267.71).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Head of Lincoln von Augustus Saint-Gaudens kam im November 2021 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 35.280,00 (€ 31.257,20) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 18%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Augustus Saint-Gaudens erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Victory im Mai 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.047.500,00 (€ 1.822.267,71).
