Auction result well in line with expectations
In May last year Bonhams in New York held the auction American Art, which included the work Robert Louis Stevenson 17 3/4 in. (45.1 cm.) high by Augustus Saint-Gaudens. The price achieved of USD 9,562.50 (€ 8,911.10) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Augustus Saint-Gaudens achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Victory in May 2017 with an auction result of USD 2,047,500.00 (€ 1,822,267.71).
