Artwork auctioned at three times the upper estimate price
The work Saloon, Silver Peak, Nevada, March 1940 by Arthur Rothstein was worth USD 6,875.00 (€ 6,325.91) to a buyer in February 2016. This price was achieved in the auction Modern Visions: Exceptional Photographs at Christies in New York and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of USD 2,000.00 many times over. Admittedly, works by Arthur Rothstein have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Farmer and sons walking in the face of a dust storm, Cimarron County, Oklahoma in April 2001 with an auction result of USD 23,500.00 (€ 26,481.86).

Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Arthur Rothstein auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Farmer and sons walking in the face of a dust storm, Cimarron County, Oklahoma im April 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 23.500,00 (€ 26.481,86).
