Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Arthur Rothstein could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in October 2021 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Classic Photographs auction, the work 'Dust Storm, Oklahoma' changed hands for USD 4,410.00 (€ 3,817.52) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Admittedly, works by Arthur Rothstein have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Farmer and sons walking in the face of a dust storm, Cimarron County, Oklahoma in April 2001 with an auction result of USD 23,500.00 (€ 26,481.86).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Arthur Rothstein konnte im Oktober 2021 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Classic Photographs wechselte die Arbeit 'Dust Storm, Oklahoma' für USD 4.410,00 (€ 3.817,52) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Arthur Rothstein auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Farmer and sons walking in the face of a dust storm, Cimarron County, Oklahoma im April 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 23.500,00 (€ 26.481,86).
