Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Two images of Farmer and Son Walking in Dust Storm, Cimaroon County, Oklahoma, 1936 by Arthur Rothstein was sold in the MoMA: Tracing Photography's History auction at Christies in New York in July 2018. The price achieved of USD 4,750.00 (€ 4,057.75) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Admittedly, works by Arthur Rothstein have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Farmer and sons walking in the face of a dust storm, Cimarron County, Oklahoma in April 2001 with an auction result of USD 23,500.00 (€ 26,481.86).
