Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2021 Sothebys in New York held the auction Bette Davis Eyes and Other Natural Phenomena: Photographs at No Reserve, which included the work Arthur Rothstein by Arthur Rothstein. The price achieved of USD 5,670.00 (€ 4,779.16) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Admittedly, works by Arthur Rothstein have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Farmer and sons walking in the face of a dust storm, Cimarron County, Oklahoma in April 2001 with an auction result of USD 23,500.00 (€ 26,481.86).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli 2021 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Bette Davis Eyes and Other Natural Phenomena: Photographs at No Reserve durch, in der auch die Arbeit Arthur Rothstein von Arthur Rothstein zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 5.670,00 (€ 4.779,16) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Arthur Rothstein auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Farmer and sons walking in the face of a dust storm, Cimarron County, Oklahoma im April 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 23.500,00 (€ 26.481,86).
