Auction result well in line with expectations
The work George Washington Carver by Arthur Rothstein was auctioned at Bonhams in New York in August last year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 1,200.00 – 1,500.00, the actual price achieved of USD 1,275.00 (€ 1,266.77) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Arthur Rothstein achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Farmer and sons walking in the face of a dust storm, Cimarron County, Oklahoma in April 2001 with an auction result of USD 23,500.00 (€ 26,481.86).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit George Washington Carver von Arthur Rothstein kam im August letzten Jahres bei Bonhams in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 1.200,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 1.275,00 (€ 1.266,77) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Arthur Rothstein erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Farmer and sons walking in the face of a dust storm, Cimarron County, Oklahoma im April 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 23.500,00 (€ 26.481,86).
