It achieved a price of USD 27,500.00 (€ 24,286.85), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 53%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Arthur Dove achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Sunset in November 2021 with an auction result of USD 7,802,500.00 (€ 6,912,820.06).

Die Arbeit Centerport III von Arthur Dove wurde im November 2018 in der Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art Morning Session bei Christies in New York versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 27.500,00 (€ 24.286,85) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 53%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Arthur Dove erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Sunset im November 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 7.802.500,00 (€ 6.912.820,06).
