Auction result misses estimated price range
In October 2002 a collector was able to acquire the work Selected images of an actress by Arnold Genthe for USD 956.00 (€ 967.51). This price was achieved in the auction Photographs at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 1,200.00 – 1,800.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Arnold Genthe achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Mixed Crowd, Old Chinatown, San Fransisco, 1895-1906 in November 2007 with an auction result of GBP 8,125.00 (€ 11,377.10).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Oktober 2002 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Selected images of an actress von Arnold Genthe für USD 956,00 (€ 967,51) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Photographs bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 1.200,00 – 1.800,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Arnold Genthe erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A Mixed Crowd, Old Chinatown, San Fransisco, 1895-1906 im November 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 8.125,00 (€ 11.377,10).
