Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Arnold Genthe could be acquired at Christies in London in October this year for an unexpectedly low price. In the A Century of Art: Photographs from The Gerald Fineberg Collection auction, the work Ezra Pound, 1939 changed hands for USD 378.00 (€ 357.68) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Arnold Genthe achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Mixed Crowd, Old Chinatown, San Fransisco, 1895-1906 in November 2007 with an auction result of GBP 8,125.00 (€ 11,377.10).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Arnold Genthe konnte im Oktober diesen Jahres bei Christies in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion A Century of Art: Photographs from The Gerald Fineberg Collection wechselte die Arbeit Ezra Pound, 1939 für USD 378,00 (€ 357,68) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 1.000,00 – 1.500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Arnold Genthe erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A Mixed Crowd, Old Chinatown, San Fransisco, 1895-1906 im November 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 8.125,00 (€ 11.377,10).
