Auction result well in line with expectations
This work without title by Aref El Rayess was sold in the 20th Century Art / Middle East auction at Sothebys in London in October 2021. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 18,000.00 – 25,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 18,900.00 (€ 22,391.40) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Aref El Rayess have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Jeddah (Al Shatek el Hadi) (The Calm Shore) in March 2015 with an auction result of USD 137,000.00 (€ 127,548.65).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Aref El Rayess wurde im Oktober 2021 in der Auktion 20th Century Art / Middle East bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 18.000,00 – 25.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 18.900,00 (€ 22.391,40) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Aref El Rayess auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Jeddah (Al Shatek el Hadi) (The Calm Shore) im März 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 137.000,00 (€ 127.548,65).
